As part of the Life Landscape Fire project, CIM Viseu Dão Lafões promoted an exchange programme for the dissemination and experimentation of knowledge and practices in the use of prescribed burning and the impact of fire, which took place on the 27th, 28th and 29th March 2023.
The participants had the opportunity to carry out practical prescribed burning actions and to analyse methods and results of fire use.
This initiative was aimed at technicians and professionals in the sector, namely Prescribed Fire Technicians and Burning Operators from the region’s municipalities, as well as members of the Emergency Civil Protection Units of the National Republican Guard, the Institute for Nature Conservation and Forests, and Fire Brigades, with a total of 30 participants.
The practical sessions took place in the municipalities of Castro Daire and Vouzela, while the theoretical part took place in the Logistics Support Base of the Voluntary Fire Brigade of Mangualde.
