Study for the implementation of infrastructures to support extensive grazing

In June, several visits were made to livestock farms under extensive regimes, located in the municipalities of São Pedro do Sul, Vouzela and Aguiar da Beira, in order to prepare a technical and financial study, aimed at fire prevention, which will result in the identification of the need to implement infrastructures to support extensive grazing (drinking troughs, fences, etc.).

This study, carried out by Actyva – Sociedad Cooperativa Integral del Suroeste, aims to adapt proven scientific methods and technologies such as Holistic Management, pasture monitoring and grazing planning, to promote an improvement in the use and functioning of ecosystem processes, thus ensuring the flow of environmental services from pastures, thus contributing to fire prevention.
