2nd International Webinar | LIFE Landscape Fire 2021

In the context of the LIFE Landscape Fire Project, the 2nd International Webinar | LIFE Landscape Fire 2021 took place on the 14th and 21st December 2021 and the 11th January 2022, promoted by the Intermunicipal Community Viseu Dão Lafões, promoter of the referred project.

In this webinar, divided into three sessions, the following topics were addressed: – December the 14th 2021 – “Traditional Practices” – December the 21st 2021 – ” Predictive models of spatial risk” – January the 11th 2022 – “Climate Change”.

This seminar had the participation of, among others, the Executive Secretary of CIM Viseu Dão Lafões, Nuno Martinho; the Rector of the University of Extremadura, António Hidalgo; the Vice-President of the Polytechnic Institute of Viseu, Helena Vala; the President of the Mancomunidad Integral Sierra de San Pedro, Alberto Piris; and of the Regional Government of Extremadura, José Luis del Pozo, as well as specialists in various areas including, João Rodrigues, António Monteiro, Paulo Fernandes, Silvia Nunes, Alfonso Fernández Manso, José Manuel Moreno Rodríguez, Mário Marques and Maria Fernanda Arbaizar.

This webinar aimed to promote debate and disseminate new ways of using animal traction, from a modern and current perspective, incorporating and adapting new knowledge, encouraging sustainable development models with the promotion of cultural practices compatible with the preservation of agro-biodiversity, as well as sharing information resulting from the analysis of predictive models of spatial risk associated with Climate Change.
