The Intermunicipal Community (CIM) Viseu Dão Lafões, promotes the 3rd International Seminar | LIFE Landscape Fire 2023, which will take place on March 30th and 31st 2023, at the Montebelo Viseu Congress Hotel, in the city of Viseu.
Developed in the context of the LIFE Landscape Fire Project, this forum aims to promote the debate and the sharing of experiences on issues such as forest fire prevention, biodiversity conservation, increased forest resilience, the empowerment of decision-makers regarding the benefits of prevention and actions to reduce the current territorial vulnerability of the region, among others.
This seminar will include, among others, the participation of the Executive Secretary of CIM Viseu Dão Lafões, Nuno Martinho, the President of the Serra de San Pedro Community (Spain), Alberto Piris, as well as experts from various areas including Francisco Rego, Carlos Aguiar, Álvaro Gómez Nuñez, Elsa Varela, Óscar Conejero and Natividade Alviz.
The Life Landscape Fire Project aims to develop forest fire prevention measures, through the use of prescribed burning, silvopastoralism and invasive species control, biodiversity conservation, increased forest resilience, the empowerment of decision-makers regarding the benefits of prevention, as well as the identification of a set of local adaptation options and measures that will allow the identification and proposal of actions to reduce current and future territorial vulnerability of the region.
