Training in Techniques for Planning Grazing Activities – Module 2 – Ecological Monitoring

As part of the Life Landscape Fire project, between the 2nd and 14th of June, the theoretical (online) and practical training sessions on Techniques for Planning Grazing Actions took place, referring to Module 2 – Ecological Monitoring (32 hours), developed by Actyva – Sociedad Cooperativa Integral del Suroeste. This initiative was attended by 15 trainees, technicians of the municipalities that comprise CIM Viseu Dão Lafões. The practical sessions took place in Castro Daire, in the village of Moura Morta, on June 8th and 9th. Grazing is an essential tool in fuel management, allowing simultaneously for the reduction of the available fuel load and its potential fire risk, habitat management and soil fertilization.
